There’s nothing better than creating memories with the ones you love. This year for the Holiday season, give the gift of exciting adventure and memories that everyone will cherish. My curated Holiday Gift Guide: Experiences is filled with ideas for everyone in the family.
The following ideas are based on local places in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. However, you can take some of these ideas and check you local area to see if there’s something similar near you.
1. Cooking Class
Cooking classes are always a great idea, whether you’re planning to go as a couple or go with kids, it’s always a fun experience. This is a great gift for the entire family or a couple in your life. Tastebuds Kitchen in East Greenwich, RI offers a variety of cooking classes for kids and adults!
2. Escape Room
It’s always a fun time when you go to an escape room. The Great Escape Room in Providence, RI is voted number one in the area. There are a few escape rooms in New England so lots of options to try many out!
3. Glass Blowing
Not only will you have the experience of learning how to blow glass, you’ll also be able to make and take home your own blown glass piece of art. Gather Glass in Providence, RI offers a a 1 hour class for up to four people (ages 8+).
4. Children’s Museum
Perfect to gift to a family with little ones, the children’s museum will be sure to give the family a memorable day. The Providence Children’s Museum and the Boston Children’s Museum are both great options!
5. Indoor Karting
For the thrill seekers no matter the weather. R1 Indoor Karting in Lincoln, RI will give you the adrenaline rush you need. Not only is there indoor karting, but also an Axe bar, arcade, dart city and more!
6. The TopGolf Experience
For the golfers in your life. A trip or gift card to TopGolf would be perfect! With their most recent location in Cranston, RI. A convenient location for Rhode Islanders. Other location I clouded Canton, Ma.
7. Zoo
I gotta admit, Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence, RI is not my favorite even though it’s the closest to me. My favorite local zoo is Southwick’s. Zoo in Mendon, Ma. Worth the drive and this will be a new and fun experience to gift to a family that want to try a new Zoo to take their kids to.
8. Farm
I can’t rave about this place enough, Davis Farmland in Sterling, Ma is packed with lots of fun activities for the little ones. We discovered this farm years ago when Aidan was very young and every time someone needs suggestions on where to take their little one, this is one of my top places. We’ve purchased gift cards to give to friends and they always go back after visiting for the first time.
9. Indoor Challenge
Create fun memories at Level 99 at Natick Mall in Natick, Ma. A large indoor space filled with different challenges. You work as a team to work through physical and mental challenges and earn rewards. Level 99 will be opening up a new location at Providence Place Mall soon too!
10. Smash Room
I’m a big fan of gifting experiences so last year we took my nieces to Smash N’ Splash and we had so much fun! What a great stress reliever. Once you get the hang and get comfortable smashing things you’ll want to keep going! My nieces loved it!
11. Indoor Rock Climbing
If you haven’t tried indoor rock climbing or know someone who hasn’t tried it, it’s a must! Rock Spot Climbing in Lincoln, RI is so much fun and super rewarding. A great place for families and couples!
Other Great Experiences
Axe throwing which is lots of fun with a group of friends. The Dinosaur Place in Oakdale, CT, great for young dinosaur fans. Bowling is always a great time. Sports event, last year on Christmas Day we went to watch the Celtics play in Boston and it was so much fun. Great memories were created.
